University of Helsinki has decided to discontinue the Helsinki Summer School (HSS) until further notice. UH’s international Summer School has been organised annually in August since 2000.

The Helsinki Summer School (HSS) team wants to thank everyone we have cooperated with during the past two decades; students, teachers, course coordinators, partner universities and many, many others. It has truly been a privilege and a pleasure.

Hundreds of courses, over 5000 students, more than 20 000 completed ECTS credits and of course an innumerable number of events, projects, essays, exams, discussions, collaborations, memories and new friendships are something we all, the HSS community, can be proud of!

University of Helsinki still offers many other excellent education possibilities in English. We encourage you to check out our Open Online Courses and MOOCs. Explore also the wide variety of our Master’s Programmes and Doctoral Programmes, or find out more about the Bachelor’s Programme in Science.

To keep updated about the application dates and processes, sign up for our Admissions Newsletter, or subscribe to the ThinkLetter to get the latest science news in your inbox a few times a year.

You can contact the HSS team via email ( until the end of August 2021. After that, the units that provide services for applicants and students at the University of Helsinki will be there to support you.
